The Best Locations for a Couples Session in Florence
Florence offers an extraordinary variety of settings for couple photography. Each location has its own character, its own light and its own atmosphere. I choose locations based on the time of day, the season and what the couple wants to express.
The Boboli Gardens offer privacy, Renaissance beauty and soft light throughout the day. The geometric layout and the views over the city create images that feel genuinely timeless.
San Miniato al Monte is one of my favourite locations in Florence. The Romanesque church, the cypress lined paths and the panoramic view over the entire city from above create a backdrop that is impossible to replicate anywhere else. At golden hour the light here is exceptional.
Ponte Vecchio and the Oltrarno are perfect for a more urban, spontaneous atmosphere. The narrow streets, the reflections on the Arno and the iconic silhouette of the bridge create photographs that feel alive and full of energy.
Piazzale Michelangelo at sunrise is one of Florence's best kept secrets for photography. Before the tourist crowds arrive, the view over the entire city in the early morning light is extraordinary.

How to Book
Availability in Florence is limited, particularly during spring and autumn when the city is at its most beautiful. I recommend getting in touch as early as possible, ideally before your trip, to check availability and plan the session around the best time of day for your chosen locations.
The booking process is simple. You contact me with your dates and what you have in mind, I confirm availability and we plan the session together. A deposit is required to secure the date.
When to Shoot: Timing is Everything in Florence
Florence is a busy city and timing makes an enormous difference to the experience and the images. The two best moments of the day are early morning before 8am and the golden hour in the late afternoon into sunset.
Early morning Florence is a completely different city: quiet, soft light, empty streets and a quality of atmosphere that disappears completely once the tourist crowds arrive. For couples staying in the city, an early morning session before breakfast is one of the most rewarding experiences I offer.
Golden hour in Florence, particularly from Piazzale Michelangelo or San Miniato, produces some of the most beautiful light I encounter anywhere in Tuscany. The warm tones, the long shadows and the glow over the city create images that feel genuinely cinematic.
Who These Sessions Are For
These sessions are designed for international couples visiting Florence who want professional photographs that reflect the beauty of the city and the authenticity of their experience. They are not tourist photography. They are the same approach I bring to destination weddings: natural light, prime lenses, genuine moments and images that last.
They are particularly well suited for honeymoon couples who want to mark the beginning of their marriage with something meaningful, anniversary couples celebrating a milestone in one of the world's most romantic cities, and couples who simply love Florence and want to remember it properly.
